Girls Gymnastics Team Head Coach
My Name is Jillian Jackson aka Miss Jill or Miss Sassy J. I am the Head Team Coach and Club General Manager at Jackson’s Gymnastics and I have been coaching for Jackson’s gymnastics for over 6 years now. Before making the transition to being a competitive gymnastics coach I was a level 10, regional qualifying gymnasts and the winner of the prestigious Jose Gaspar award in 2001. This award is given out each year to the winning All Around gymnasts in the “Premier” Level 10 session, at the International gymnastics competition, The Gasparilla Classic. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BS, Marketing Degree.
The decision to come back to the sport of gymnastics was not an easy one for me; I left the sport at 16 with a sour taste in my mouth and a broken heart. After resisting for as long as I could, I let gymnastics back into my life and it has been the best decision I have ever made. I truly believe the Lord has used the children to heal my heart and use my experiences (both positive and negative) to give every child the opportunity to become a successful gymnasts.
My moto: I am not here to just build successful gymnasts, I am here to build character.
I believe that my girls deserve the best from myself and my coaching staff; it’s my job to make sure they get that. Pushing each girl to the highest potential AND being their number one cheerleader during their journey in the sport of gymnastics.
One final word to all the parents: Remember, success in the sport of gymnastics does not always mean winning. It can mean concurring fears, gaining strength, developing friendships, building character, developing a work ethic and/or concurring a learning disability. Each child is different!!! The best thing you can do for your child is to be their biggest supporter!!
